About

Mari Saan is a ceramic artist based in Estonia. Her ceramics are recognised for their earthy tones, tactile weathered textures and hand-shaped forms that carry the marks of the maker. Her work explores clay through form, surface and an intuitive making process. Each piece develops slowly, allowing the character of the material and traces of its making to remain visible.

Her current work centres on sculptural vessels, vases and statement forms. She sees ceramics as an evolving personal process — a space for experimentation, observation and the gradual development of her own visual language.
